What we do

We celebrate Bengali culture!

The Hindu association from London, bringing Bengali festivals & culture to Indian diaspora in the UK. We come together and celebrate Durga Puja and other cultural and religious festivals, every year.

We Gather

We have regular members’ meetings throughout the year, and of course more as we approach the last three months before Durga Puja. We make sure to arrange these meetings in a easy-to-access venue with parking facilities.

We Plan

We brainstorm and plan for the upcoming Puja and who is volunteering to take which responsibility. You’ll be amazed to see how the so-called “seniors” carry out their duties and even more!

We create sub-committees before puja to make sure we have focussed effort from a dedicated team.

We Celebrate

Finally, as the much-awaited days of Durga Puja comes, we celebrate together, with you!

Come, join us this year, and you’ll see the “difference”. We conduct a homely puja true to the roots!

Bengali Culture

Culture is at the heart of Bengal and all Bengali people around the world! Bengal has a long history of literary excellence, with notable figures like Rabindranath Tagore, who was the first non-European Nobel laureate in Literature. The Bengali language itself is celebrated for its sweetness and depth. Bengali culture boasts a vibrant tradition of art, music, and dance from classical forms like Rabindra Sangeet to folk traditions, the arts are integral to Bengali identity. Festivals like Durga Puja showcase elaborate artistic expressions.

So no wonder that we make sure that this tradition is promoted and celebrated here as well! Our members themselves are talented performers, be it dance, singing or even shruti-natya! Come enjoy our cultural programs every evening – check the Schedule page for day-wise details.

What we care for

Maa Durga

Celebrate our rich heritage

Durga Puja is something that is deeply integrated with Bengali culture. Every year by celebrating Durga Puja, we give our fellow Bengalis/Indians a chance to feel right at home.

Cultural continuity for our children

Children who grew in the UK and have never been to India or West Bengal, gets to know our culture from up close. We are delighted to give them this golden opportunity to see how beautiful and spiritual a religious festival can be!
